anx.f-n-xns.w
Ranke I, pg. 67, 9, Ranke II, pg. 347
Also known as Ankhefenkhonsou, Ankhefenkhons, Anchefenchons
Provenance Thebes
Purchased in 1812, in the museum since 1857 (Totenbuchproject)
21st Dynasty
The papyrus remains unpublished. It is tempting to think that Ankhefenkhonsu was a priest, but unfortunately the vignette does not record any titles of the owner. Although he is completely shaven and presents incense to Osiris, it cannot be determined with certainty whether he was a priest, since this is not otherwise indicated by his attire or by the hieratic text, which I am unable to read independently
Graig Sherwood of the Warrington Museum & Art Gallery kindly informed me that the papyrus had been examined some years ago by Dr. Marcus Müller of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Institute of Art History and Archaeology, Department of Egyptology, as part of the Book of the Dead Project. Dr. Müller reported to the museum that the papyrus contains chapters 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, and 27 of the Book of the Dead, in that order
