Mistress of the House

This papyrus contains chapters from the Book of the Dead written for the mistress of the house Ta-Atum, originating from Thebes-West in Egypt. The text consists of selected spells that guide the deceased through the underworld, help her pass the judgment before Osiris, and ensure her successful transformation into a blessed being among the gods. Typical elements include protective formulas, transformation spells, and at least one judgment scene in which the heart of the deceased is weighed against the feather of Maat, symbolizing moral integrity and justification in the afterlife.
